For some reason, this weekend seemed extra short. I think it's because part of my brain has already "checked out" for Christmas break. I must have caught that from my students, ha ha!
I'm not into wishing my life away, but I am still hopeful that this week moves quickly! I am anticipating a productive break, which will include lots of planning for the rest of the school year. Of course, there are still some things that need to be unpacked. Luckily, Chris has the garage almost done! We could probably squeeze both cars in there now, if we wanted to. What a good guy!
Speaking of productivity, Saturday was a success for us. We (ok, just me, but I think Chris needed the sleep) got up early and took care of some things around the house. Then we went to the bank and ran some errands. After that, we got most of our Christmas shopping done. Yay!
Later on, Kristin and Mike came over for wings. We have been using the grill Chris' parents got us a LOT. Chris decided to give it a rest this weekend and fire up his deep-fryer that he ordered from Cabelas recently.
We always have fun with those two. Chris and Mike can have "man time," and Kristin and I can sit and laugh at them and just talk. We have a lot to catch up on, since we don't teach in the same school this year... Sawyer was very excited to see them, but eventually crashed...
Today was a pretty typical Sunday. The highlight was taking Sawyer to the dog park in Wassamassaw Park. He played with a Flat-coat Retriever named Charlie, and a pair of Boxers, one of which was named Simon. (My friend Kristin will find that funny) He came home tired out and has been sleeping most of the day.
That's about it for now... I hope everyone is doing well!
