8 Months

I can't believe that Emma's already 8 months old! Time is flying! Today was a fun day. Emma and I got up, had breakfast, played on the floor... all that fun kind of stuff. After Emma's morning nap, we went to All is Well to pick up Sawyer's food and ran a couple of errands, including a stop to buy her a new toy. Check out her new car!

Emma doesn't have a doctor's appointment this month, but I think she's about 18lbs now. I'm not sure how long she is.

Teeth:
She's had her two bottom middle teeth since 5.5 months. Now, I can feel her top two middle teeth coming in, as well as one tooth coming in next to the two she already has on the bottom. Can't wait to see them! Bet they're cute!

New things in the last two months (since I forgot to do this for 7 months):
-Pulling up to a standing position using support like a couch, basket, hand...
-Makes all vowel sounds regularly
-Makes "ga" and "ba" sounds occasionally
-Throws toys and waits for them to be picked up (it's a game, I think)
-Sometimes leans in for kisses (mostly open-mouth kisses- so cute!)
-Makes a "maaaaaaaaa" sound when really hungry
-Sits either on her legs/bent @ knees; or with one leg in front, one bent with knee in air
-Rapidly flaps her arms in the air when she gets excited
-Raises her arms (when sitting) if Chris or I ask "Up?" to her
-Raises head/neck (when laying) if we ask "Up?" to her
-Uses sippy cup, but mostly plays with it
-Sometimes tries to feed herself with a spoon (which has made mealtime messier but more interesting)
-Attempts to share her pacifier and mesh feeder with us and Sawyer
-Often holds her bottle with her feet (and hands!)
-Takes her bib off on her own (another messy skill!)

I'm sure there's more, but it's late and I'm tired...

What a sweet gift Emma has been to us. At only 8 months old, she is full of personality. She makes us laugh all the time with her silly faces and her big smile first thing in the morning makes every day start on a good note. I'm so thankful that I get to be her mom!
