Towards the end of every year, I look forward to that exciting feeling of a New Year and a new start. This season it was no different, and though I do think that any day has the potential for a fresh start, something about starting a new year is very exciting to me.
I was thinking about how many changes 2011 will bring for our family, and then I realized that the last five years have all brought big changes! It all started in 2006 when Chris proposed to me on a gorgeous fall evening (and I graduated from EMU, but that seems minor now). Then of course, 2007 brought more changes and big challenges... We both worked like crazy up until the wedding and then the sudden move to South Carolina to start our careers. In 2008 we adopted Sawyer and built the house; what a fun year it was! 2009 gave us the sweetest gift we could ever imagine, Emma Kate. I could go on and on about how great she is, but it also strengthened the bond Chris and I have, which was wonderful! 2010 was a great year. Chris made a move in careers, which has challenged us in some ways, but made life much easier in others. I learned a lot about many things, mostly myself. Baby Emma grew into a toddler right before our eyes... It also was the year we found out that we were expecting another baby girl.
With all of those events in the past years, and me being pregnant now, it makes me certain that 2011 will also bring big changes for our family. Of course, everyone knows about the baby... but we'll see what else happens in 2011!
