Cupcakes for my students...

Tomorrow I've scheduled the kids to take their last SRI (Scholastic Reading Inventory). This test measures the level at which they can read proficiently. They have taken this test two other times this year; they took it once in the fall and again in the winter. Their results should show their reading comprehension growth over the course of the year.

In order to celebrate (and keep them quiet during testing), I've made cupcakes and am bringing some other treats in for them to munch on during class. Of course, what kind of teacher would I be if I promoted them eating junk food for two hours? My solution is below...

I can't take credit for the idea, though. Chris bought me a baking book I've wanted called Hello, Cupcake. And on another note, during the 5 hours of baking, I did not even eat one! The baby, however, did have one cupcake...

Hey when do you guys get to find out what you're having? Do you already have names picked out? When you know, I wanna paint your little one a name painting (see my blog)!

Hope you're feeling good mama!

Those look great! I have that book, but shamefully have not made a thing from it. You are so much more Betty Crocker than me! :)

I love you and miss you bunches!

Those look spectacular, Kathryn!
Cookbook or not, you've just demonstrated to your students the benefit of reading! They look yummy!
I'm glad the baby had one! He / she still needs a little meat on his/her bones! Chris is a dear for buying the cookbook.

I miss you so much!

Very cool Kat!
I've got that book too but, just like Jen...haven't made a thing from there yet. Lots of cool ideas though.
Still waiting for the belly pictures!
