I'm not trying to tempt fate or anything, but Sawyer has confirmed my belief that our house will never be easy to burglarize as long as he's around. He's prompted multiple delivery men ask for him to be restrained while they were here. Once in the foyer, the guys who delivered our sectional STILL didn't want to come in because they didn't believe me that he was in his crate. Last week he made the head builder run- literally RUN- out of our yard.
Sawyer has been getting a lot better about not barking, which is nice because there are constantly dozens of workers building houses within view from our windows. Just now though, some strange woman pulled into our neighbors' driveway and walked over here and rang our doorbell- BIG mistake. He gets extremely worked up when someone rings the bell. The woman took several steps back and had to nearly shout to me that she wanted to use my phone. I told her to wait outside. I left Sawyer standing at the door barking while I went to get my cell phone. Then I wondered why I even felt obligated to answer the door....
I've learned three things from these experiences:
1) Sawyer is very protective of his family, especially while we're inside, as opposed to the yard.
2) I need blinds in my dining room so I can more easily pretend I'm not home.
3) There are way too many people who solicit, stop by or are otherwise annoying in our sub.
Update: 3.5 hours later...
The doorbell just rang AGAIN. The meat man came by trying to sell more meat. I am so tired of meat salesmen, security companies, Mormons (no offense meant), cleaning companies, fence builders and every other agency you can think of coming to our door. The only "sales people" I have tolerance for is children- that's it.
I called Chris to tell him about all these people and he agreed to install blinds in our dining room this weekend. Thank goodness!
Where can I find some sheer drapes/curtains for the tall, narrow windows on each side of our front door? Mom, feel like sewing any for me??? :)

you know I will. You need to look at the rod options though. Some are spring rods and others fit across the opening. Best option might be narrow mini blinds which you can open or close.
BTW, your tummy is so cute. Looking forward to your choice of names. Caroline was yet another interesting option. Almost to the seventh month already!
