It was super hot and extremely muggy, but we survived... At the awards ceremony, my kids looked pretty disappointed because they knew that our class wouldn't be getting one of the cherished trophies. Then, one of my darlings pipes in with, "We don't need a trophy on the shelf when we have pride in our hearts!" Maybe it's a movie quote or he heard it elsewhere, I don't know, but I thought that was really sweet and rather mature for a 7th grader.
I don't think I'm quite ready to let them go to 8th grade... Ok, maybe a few of them can go... ;)
